Hi friends!
Sorry I've been gone so long. There's no better way to celebrate my "return" better than a feature. This feature is going to be a little bit different than some that I've done before, as in I'm pointing you to FREE goodies to use (well, sort of--each one of these images have different rules set by the owners. PLEASE respect them and their work!!)
One of the best things about DA is how resorces that are hard to find otherwise are available here and are only a search away. 99.9% of the time these resorces are free to use and you only need to credit back to the person and tell them where and how you used their texture, stock, photo action, etc. Each person that submits has different rules, but if you are a poor artist like myself, DA can become a great way to sharpen your skills without having to sit in a classroom and get head over heels in student loans. I really belive that with art (no matter what kind) what you put into it is what you get out of it.
What does this have to do with stock, photo actions, etc?
Outside of DA, you usually have to pay to get access to things like this (eg, buying packs of stock photos or photo actions). Here at DA, there are many wonderful artists who post things that are very useful for only recognition. Others wish to keep what they submit on DA and ask you not to submit it anywhere else.
Another cool thing about using textures, stock, etc is that when you link back to the person, often they will add your work to their favorites. This means more favorites for you, and more page views. I don't belive being on DA is all about the page views, but I won't lie---it is really nice when you can see your pageviews growing.

If you don't visit anything else here in this journal, do yourself a favor and visit here. The Artist's Hospital is perfectly named, and it has been a life saver to me the past few months. If you need help with something, spending five minutes on this site will help you find a solution to your problem, need, or want. There is so much stuff here, you could spend hours going through everything. Many internal and external links are available, and from the Artist's Hospital I was able to legaly download selected portions of anatomy lessons and books that have really helped my figure drawing. EVERYTHING is here. There is so many tutorials and references here it will blow your mind.
PEOPLE TO WATCH:
*Tigg-stock has A HUGE amount of full body stock in interesting locations. All of the images are high quality, diverse, and many should be looked at just for their sheer coolness.
*JaneJayne is sexy. Need retro model stock? here. Innocent model stock? here. Artsy model stock? here. Sexy stock? It's here. You name it, Cody has modeled it and the results are fantastic. This is a co-run account by some wonderful and friendly people, so check it out.
Kizistock has high quality and beautiful textures and backgrounds. Some of her submissions are so great I can't believe she will share them with others to use. I love when she adds new stuff to her gallery. Totally is worth seeing (although I've posted a whole bunch of it here in this journal.
